Hubert Dreyfus
Professor Hubert Dreyfus of UC Berkeley's Philosophy department and author of What Computers Still Can't Do: A Critique of Artificial Intelligence, is probably the most distinguished critic of artificial intelligence on the planet. As the author of Thinking in Action: On the Internet and Mind over Machine, Dreyfus is also a leading critic of digital culture and technology. Talking with Dreyfus was a treat. His wit and erudition represent a refreshing break from much of the sanctimonious techno-babble emanating out of Silicon Valley.
